Saturday School - Important Notice |
|
As a part of our rigorous academic program, all of our students are required to attend school on Saturday twice per month from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. Our Saturday School program enriches our students’ learning experience through academic enrichment classes and a system of hands-on “challenge projects”. These activities enable students to apply traditional academic skills and knowledge to real-world situations; work together as a team toward common goals and lastly, exposes students to outside hobbies and projects. Saturday school will last for 3 hours and students will receive a snack, no lunch will be provided. The Academic focus for Term #1 is Social Studies and Science. Students will be completing a project based activity in Social Studies and a Final Lab in Science. They will receive a final grade for their projects at the end of the term.
Saturday School will begin on Saturday, August 22, 2009. Students are considered tardy at 8:31 and receive a deduction for tardiness. They are expected to have on their Saturday School uniform – which are the blue athletic shorts or plain blue sweat pants and their grade level KSFA t-shirt. Saturday school is mandatory for all students, unless they have an excuse which includes (an illness with doctor’s or parent note, police report or court proceeding, attendance at funeral or administration permission). If a student is excused, they will have until the Tuesday after Saturday School to turn in the make up assignment. If a student is unexcused, they will receive a zero for participation class work grade. Thank you in advance for your continued support of KSFA and the overall success of your child.

Welcome to KIPP South Fulton Academy |
|
KIPP South Fulton Academy is a charter middle school where we put all of our students on a college track beginning in the fifth grade. We believe that every child can learn, and that all children deserve access to a high-quality education that will truly prepare them for academic and personal success. We believe that when students, parents, and teachers make a serious commitment to work hard and work together, anything can become possible for our children. KIPP South Fulton Academy (KSFA) serves students in the fifth through eighth grades. Students must be zoned for Fulton County Schools in order to attend, but the only other criteria for admission are a desire to graduate from college and a willingness to commit to the long hours of hard work that it will take to get there. As a public charter school, our program is free for all students. |
